Today I lost it for a minute there –
The feeling that everything can be okay.
I lost myself in dulling talks
Of people putting no thoughts
In what they say
And just spilling,
Spitting useless words
Without thinking it could hurt
‘Cause like stakes they stunned me.
Like knives going ruthlessly right through me.
And for what? I ask myself.
Would it even matter if I stay?
If I am gone, the thought crossed my mind,
Would the world suffer any difference?
Would it be of any real significance?
I answer to these questions straight –
Without lying to myself,
Without inclining to restraint.
Today I lost it for a minute there.
One minute only!
Still, a minute here, a minute there;
An hour here, an hour there;
Days come, years go
And I’m only thinking about the shot-gun on the wall.
Today I lost it for a minute there.
One minute only…
The feeling that everything can be okay.
I lost myself in dulling talks
Of people putting no thoughts
In what they say
And just spilling,
Spitting useless words
Without thinking it could hurt
‘Cause like stakes they stunned me.
Like knives going ruthlessly right through me.
And for what? I ask myself.
Would it even matter if I stay?
If I am gone, the thought crossed my mind,
Would the world suffer any difference?
Would it be of any real significance?
I answer to these questions straight –
Without lying to myself,
Without inclining to restraint.
Today I lost it for a minute there.
One minute only!
Still, a minute here, a minute there;
An hour here, an hour there;
Days come, years go
And I’m only thinking about the shot-gun on the wall.
Today I lost it for a minute there.
One minute only…
